Identity is a huge part of our lives- it defines our very being. As adolescents stepping into the world, perhaps the greatest struggle we face is finding our identity- in the face of a million insecurities, expectations, and the myriad societal pressures. Our art installation looks at this idea from a multifaceted approach- literally. We aim to explore the different layers each of us have within our identities, and understand the internal conflicts in each of us, as we attempt to navigate the world around us. We are going to execute our idea using a box as our installation, decorating all four sides to explore the above aspects, recycled CDs, paint, recycled newspapers and magazines.
The painted figure symbolises struggles with body dysmorphia and the broken CDs represent broken reflections of ourselves, and the ever changing perception that we hold of our own selves. The last side of our multifaceted installation is an engagement with our school community, reflecting their thoughts on ‘identity’. We prompted them to put down their thoughts/ experiences relating to ‘identity’. Through this artwork we aim to reach out to our community and express our concept of identity.

Wonderful idea and really fantastic artwork.
Whenever a child born since that very time a word called survival begets. It becomes more intensive as ages pass and identity emerges out. From that perspective, I would say you all have disseminated a crucial message to the society with this fantastic artwork. Great!
Wonderful use of material to represent an idea!
The artwork skillfully captures the complexities of identity formation, while exploring the dynamic interplay between self-perception and societal expectations.
