Cycles of Consumption: From Waste to Art
    7.5ft X 5ft X 2ft

    by,
Dr. Anand Jaiswal, Gagan Yadav, Hemant, Hanuman Patel, Pooja Sharma & Komonica – Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana

    Material used:
Wooden base, Discarded Cups, Plates, straws

“Cycles of Consumption” intertwines the narrative of single-use cups and their detrimental impact on aquatic life. Gathered from various places and asked by people to collect these cups, from various local cafes, offices, and public spaces, these discarded cups symbolize the growing tide of plastic pollution in our oceans. Transformed into a striking wall art resembling aquatic plants, the installation serves as a poignant commentary on the interconnectedness of consumer choices and environmental consequences.

By repurposing these cups into a visually compelling artwork, we not only mitigate their harmful environmental impact but also invite viewers to reflect on the lifecycle of waste. The installation prompts a reconsideration of the ubiquitous single-use cup, emphasizing the need for sustainable alternatives. As the artwork stands proudly in a public space, it advocates for a shift in mindset, inspiring individuals to make conscious choices and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable planet.

Honestly, this is one of the best examples that depicts the beauty in diversity. Each individual product might not seem anything interesting, but when brought together, create something picturesque.

It makes me feel like looking at the humanity as a whole. People, each having their own differences, when brought together, form communities to help each other progress.

    Truly beautiful!!
